Music for Sunday
The music today concludes our musical celebration of Black History Month. As well, it serves as a musical kick off of sorts for today’s Social Justice discussion after worship. Today’s prelude is indeed special. It is a magnificent work commissioned by Morehouse College for the inauguration of its 8th president. The composer, Uzee Brown, Jr “hid” a spiritual in the midst of this work.
A special anthem for today’s worship is reminiscent of our church’s discernment program and to top it off, the composer set this text to a Shaker melody.
